Royal Commissions

Table 1 provides a list of all Royal Commissions established in New Zealand. The McGuinness Institute found that there is no singular platform that holds a comprehensive list of historical Royal Commissions; this page and Working Paper 2020/10 – A List of Royal Commissions since 1868 aims to fill in this gap. There are situations where we have not been able to find a PDF; in these cases we have simply added some evidence that illustrates it did exist. If you do have or know where we could find a PDF for Royal Commission reports, please let us know. This page is up to date as at 15 March 2022.
